Black-necked Stork

One of the most good looking storks in India in my opinion – the Black-necked Stork is a delight to watch. This is a male foraging for food in the marshes of Bharatpur. The females have a bright yellow eye, while the males flaunt bold black eyes.

While having lunch in Bharatpur near the temple, I made a remark to the cycle rickshaw drivers that I’ll treat the person who reports of a BNStork and the next morning while I was busy photographing whistling ducks in one favorite spot of mine, every cycle rickshaw that passed gave me this information and I decided to rush towards an area called ‘sapanmori’ where I found this tall, dark and handsome guy looking for a mid-day meal.

I couldn’t keep up my promise this time as at least 12-13 of them told me about this sighting. Missing Bharatpur – will be a good spot to spend a few days this winter.
